Dr. Robert Schwartz advances Viral Sign’s position as the thought leader in AI-enabled infrared imaging for infectious disease

Viral Sign Inc. today announced that Dr. Robert G. Schwartz, MD will join the company as Chief Medical Officer for the U.S. market, effective March 1, 2021. Dr. Schwartz will be a senior member of the leadership team at Viral Sign and will work directly with the company’s scientific advisors and its technology partner, Thermofy (Sao Paulo, Brazil).

In addition to his role at Viral Sign, Dr. Schwartz will continue to serve patients at his medical practice focused on physical medicine and rehabilitation in Greenville, South Carolina. He will also continue to serve as Chairman of the Board for the American Academy of Thermology, a leadership role that he has held since 2016.

Dr. Schwarz is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and the American Academy of Thermology. He is also a fellow of the Society For Vascular Medicine. He completed his undergraduate work at the University of Michigan and received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Schwartz completed his residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Texas.

Dr. Schwartz is published in leading medical journals, including Archives of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Journal of Neurological & Orthopedic Medicine & Surgery, Orthopedics, Journal of Orthopedic Medicine, Journal of Back & Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation, Electricity & Magnetism in Biology & Medicine, and Pain Procedures in Clinical Practice. He has served as Medical Director for a number of institutions and organizations, including Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, St. Francis Community Hospital, South Carolina Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Support Group, South Carolina Fibromyalgia Support Group, and the Palmetto Post-Polio and Peripheral Neuropathy Support Group.
